where we dine

All this space has equaled a lot of enjoyable meals so far.  Sure, we have dreams of a larger table, and an island with counter space, but as of now this kitchen will do us just fine.  My sweet mama came and painted the kitchen and dining room in appropriate araucana blue and complimentary teal.  This brightened up this already sunny spot so well my feet are sore from standing by these counters baking and cooking and soaking up all the blue sky goodness already.  I have dyed immense amounts of table cloths and napkin for no good reason other than because it seemed like the right thing to do when you have  a kitchen so bold.  Hanging all these oldies but goodies on our walls has given me a certain sort of contentment that only comes with settling in your very own kitchen; truly the heart of every home.  I like to imagine how many meals I will prepare here in the coming weeks, months, years, decades!  It fills me with a longevity and a reality of impermanence all at once.  I love having my morning cup of joe staring out at the wide open spaces, dreaming about this and that while my boys run wild.

Of all my senses, I have to say taste is my favorite.  It seems to involve all the others without even trying.  I so do love this kitchen.  It is undeniably my favorite room in this new house of ours.
