upside down pear cake. enough said.

Pears.

I poached and soaked them in sweet red wine and sugar.

I cooked them down.

I buttered a spring form pan and layered them in it. I made a yummy brown sugary rich dense batter-

(1.5 sticks butter, 1.5 cups brown sugar, 2/3 cup ground almonds, 1.5 tsp. backing powder, 2.5 cups flour, 4 eggs, splash vanilla, 1/2 cup buttermilk) then spooned it on top.

I waited so patiently while it baked then drizzled the leftover sugary wine syrup over the top.

I then polished off the entire cake in two days.  With the help of Miles and Lee of course.  But in all honestly I ate most of it.

And just because it is funny.  Miles feeding Rowan.

What is funnier than stealing your brothers pacifier?  Take notice of the green pants.  A project actually meant for St. Patrick’s day finally complete.  I have a LOT to learn in the sewing department but I love it.  If only it was in for 2 year olds to wear low-rise pants these would be perfect.  Oh well, that is what 3T shirts are for.  Miles loves them and my favorite part?  When someone complimented them he would respond with a “Tank you.  Mama made em.”  That’s my boy.
